Announcement of the Commission Regarding Cross-Border Cooperation

The European Commission issues a Communication to the Council, the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions on “Cross-Border Cooperation within the Framework of the Tacis Program” with a time horizon up to 1999. The Commission’s main policy objective is to develop relations between the EU, countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and the Newly Independent States at a cross-border level, as well as to support sustainable regional projects. Within this framework, corresponding resources will also be allocated to improving border control.
