Announcement Regarding the EU Strategy for Combating Antisemitism

5/10/2021

On October 5, 2021, Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Promoting the European Way of Life, presented during a press conference the Communication on the EU Strategy for combating antisemitism.
With antisemitism increasing alarmingly, in Europe and beyond, the Strategy sets out a series of measures structured around three pillars: preventing all forms of antisemitism, protecting and safeguarding Jewish life, and promoting research, education, and Holocaust remembrance.
The Strategy proposes measures to strengthen cooperation with online companies to limit antisemitism on the internet, better protect public spaces and places of worship, create a European research hub on contemporary antisemitism, and establish a network of Holocaust-related sites. These measures will be reinforced by the EU’s international efforts to lead the global fight against antisemitism.
