Common Defense Expenditure on the Council’s Agenda

The 27 heads of member states task the Commission to draft a Report by June of the same year to mobilize resources for financing common defense expenditures.

The war in Ukraine was the main topic on the summit’s agenda. According to the conclusions, “two years after Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and 10 years after Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol, EU leaders stated that they were even more steadfast in their support for Ukraine and that Russia must not prevail.”
