Council of the EU Conclusions Regarding the Accession of Bulgaria and Romania

The Council of the European Union in its General Affairs and External Relations configuration, in the conclusions it adopted and taking into account the Monitoring Report of the European Commission dated 26 September 2006, regarding the accession of Bulgaria and Romania, congratulates the two countries for the reform progress they have achieved and calls on them to complete the final pending issues so that from 1 January 2007 they will have the status of EU member states.
