Today, the Commission launches Culture Moves Europe, the new permanent mobility program for artists and cultural professionals, as well as a first call for individual mobility, during a high-level event in Brussels, Belgium. Benefiting from a total budget of 21 million euros under the Creative Europe program for a three-year period (2022-2025), Culture Moves Europe becomes the largest European mobility program for artists and cultural professionals targeting all countries and sectors of “Creative Europe” covered by the Cultural Strand of the program. Culture Moves Europe, implemented by the Goethe Institute on behalf of the Commission, includes two actions: individual mobility and residencies. Through mobility grants, it will offer the opportunity to approximately 7,000 individual artists and cultural professionals to travel abroad, within the EU and beyond, for professional development or international collaborations, to participate in artistic residencies or to host artists and cultural professionals. The action for residencies will start in early 2023.
