Establishment of a Committee for the Political Aspects of Crisis Management

The Council decides to establish a Committee responsible for the political (non-military) aspects of crisis management. The aim of this initiative is to strengthen the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and specifically the European Security and Defense Policy (ESDP). This Committee will consist of representatives from member states and will function as a working group for the Council, reporting to the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper).
