EU Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize

In 2012, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the European Union for its 60 years of efforts in promoting peace in Europe. The European Union decided to allocate the prize money (930,000 euros) to children who do not have the fortune of growing up in peaceful areas, even doubling the amount to 2 million euros.
