EU-US Energy Council

At the EU-US Summit held in Washington on November 3, 2009, among other decisions, the establishment of an Energy Council at the ministerial level was agreed upon.
The EU-US Energy Council is the main transatlantic forum for coordination on strategic energy issues, which meets annually to deepen dialogue on energy security, technology, and markets. The Council works to accelerate a fair energy transition towards climate neutrality for EU and US citizens, while also promoting research and development, innovation, and growth in related sectors.
