European Council of Corfu, 24-25/06/1994

The European Council devoted most of its work to the “White Paper on Growth, Competitiveness and Employment”. In the field of external relations, the Council reaffirmed its interest in developing relations with Mediterranean countries and supporting the peace process in the Middle East. Additionally, the European Council hosted the signing ceremony for the accession to the European Union of Austria, Sweden, Finland and Norway, with the participation of the Heads of State and Government of these countries.
