European Council of Strasbourg, 08-09/12/1989

At the European Council in Strasbourg, the member states decided to form an Intergovernmental Conference before 1990 to draft amendments to the Treaty regarding the final stages of economic and monetary union. The Heads of State or Government of 11 member states adopt, among other things, the Community Charter of the Fundamental Social Rights of Workers.
