European Council of Stuttgart, 17-19/06/1983

The European Council of Stuttgart, held on 17-19 June 1983 under the Presidency of Helmut Kohl, Federal Chancellor of Germany, concluded with a statement by the President of the Commission of the European Communities, Gaston Thorn, who spoke of a “non-failure”, given that certain issues were unblocked: enlargement, financing, development of new reform policies for the Common Agricultural Policy. The Heads of State or Government and the Foreign Ministers signed the solemn declaration on European Union.
