In the European elections of May 2019 (23-26/5), approximately 51% of EU voters turned out to vote – the highest turnout in the previous 20 years. The center-right European People’s Party and the center-left Social Democrats lose seats but remain the two largest groups in the Parliament, while other centrist and liberal parties benefit.
The 705 seats were distributed as follows:
