European Summit in Paris – 19-20/10/1972

The meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the nine countries that constitute the European Community took place in Paris on 19 and 20 October 1972. The purpose of this meeting was to define the new directions that the European Community should follow in the coming years and to set deadlines for future decisions. The topics discussed were: monetary policy, the international monetary system, economic, regional, social, industrial, technological and scientific policy, the environment, energy, development aid, trade, political cooperation and institutional strengthening.
