Expiration of the ECSC Treaty

A ceremony was held to mark the expiration of the European Coal and Steel Community Treaty, 35 years after the merger of the Institutions (1967) and the European Communities. To commemorate the event, Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission, delivered a speech at the Symposium “History and Future of the European Union”, which took place at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
