First Internal Regulation of the EEC Commission

The first Internal Regulation of the Commission of the European Economic Community is approved. According to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (Article 249), it is stipulated that the European Commission will adopt its internal regulation to ensure its operation, as well as the functioning of its services.

The internal regulation contains provisions for the organization of the Commission, the role of its services and the manner of their joint action, and provisions for substitution and operational continuity.
