France Opposes the Methods of Financing the Common Agricultural Policy

France, at a Council of Agriculture Ministers meeting, expresses to its five partners its opposition regarding the way the Common Agricultural Policy is financed. Essentially, from then until January 29, 1966, the “empty chair crisis” began as France refused to participate in all intergovernmental meetings of the Community bodies in Brussels.
