Group for Conducting a Study on Economic and Monetary Union

In accordance with the commitments made by the Six at the Hague Summit in December 1969, a Council Decision is issued in Brussels to establish an international group of experts, chaired by Luxembourg Prime Minister Pierre Werner. This group will be responsible for conducting a study on the establishment of economic and monetary union.
