Humanitarian Aid in Islamabad after Floods in Pakistan

3/9/2010

Following the devastating floods that struck Pakistan in July and August, an Antonov AN-124 cargo aircraft carrying 100 tons of aid was chartered by the EU. The plane arrived at Chaklala Air Base, near Islamabad, on September 3. This mission is coordinated by the Commission’s Monitoring and Information Centre (MIC), which has currently sent a team of civil protection experts to Pakistan to monitor the distribution of EU in-kind aid.
