Inauguration of the Transport Community between the EU and Western Balkan Countries

On September 12 and 13, 2019, Violeta Bulc, Member of the European Commission responsible for Transport, traveled to Belgrade, Serbia to attend the inauguration of the Headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from the EU and Serbia, and the interim Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community.
This is the first international institution to open in Serbia.
The Transport Community is an international organization consisting of the EU and the six Contracting Parties of the Western Balkans (Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro and Republic of Serbia). Its main objective is to extend the EU transport market rules, principles and policies to the Western Balkan Contracting Parties through a legally binding framework.
