Jean Monnet’s Resignation from the ECSC

The President of the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), Jean Monnet, in a letter to the six member states of the ECSC, informs the governments that he wishes to resign from his position. Although he notes that the decision may be reversible, he ultimately resigns a few days later, on June 9.
