Joint Statement after the Summit on the Creation of the European Economic Area

A Joint Statement is issued regarding the progress of negotiations and the steps taken towards the creation of the European Economic Area. This Joint Statement resulted from a consultation held a day earlier in Brussels, which involved the Ministers of the member states and the Commission of the European Communities, along with the Ministers of the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and Liechtenstein. The Secretary General of EFTA was also present at the meeting.
