Last Session of the High Authority

The last session of the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community is taking place in Luxembourg, given that the Merger Treaty (Brussels, April 8, 1965) comes into effect on July 1. The latter provides for the merger of the executive bodies of the European Coal and Steel Community, the European Economic Community, and the European Atomic Energy Community. The first session of the Unified Commission took place on July 6 in Brussels under the Presidency of Belgian Jean Rey.
