Jean Monnet, President of the High Authority, through a letter, requests from the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Jacques Camille Paris, the provision of the Meeting Hall owned by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg for the first Session of the Common Assembly to be held in September, as well as certain services. At the same time, the High Authority, recognizing that the organization of this first Session must be of a temporary nature, informs him of the establishment of a temporary Preparatory Committee which will be composed of officials from the national parliaments of the Six of the Community, for the organizational needs of this Session, so that the Assembly can work within the framework of institutional independence.
