Monnet’s Concerns Due to the USA

The President of the Action Committee for the United States of Europe (ACUSE), Jean Monnet, in a letter to the President of the Dutch Trade Union Federation and also a member of ACUSE, Hendrik Oosterhuis, expresses his concerns about the European industry at a time when discussions for the establishment of Euratom are imminent, due to the USA’s initiative to sell enriched uranium abroad, aiming to develop the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.
