Proposals for the Establishment of a European Atomic Energy Agency

With the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes entering an industrial phase and within the framework of the Spaak Committee’s work, France, in a memorandum to other delegations, proposes the establishment of a European Atomic Energy Agency. Similarly, the German delegation to the Spaak Committee submits a note outlining the issues that should be put on the table for upcoming negotiations regarding the creation of such an agency. These include the institutional form of the agency and potential cooperation programs among the six member states.
