Publication of the First Rule of Law Report

30/9/2020

On September 30, 2020, Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency, and Didier Reynders, European Commissioner for Justice, presented the first EU-wide report on the rule of law – one of the most important initiatives of the European Commission’s Work Program for 2020. It included data from each member state and covered developments across the EU. The report covered four key pillars: national justice systems, anti-corruption frameworks, media pluralism and freedom, as well as institutional issues related to “checks and balances”.
