Schengen Agreement

A small village in Luxembourg lends its name to the Schengen Agreement, which gradually allows citizens to travel without passport checks at borders. The agreement was signed on June 14, 1985, by Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. Today, the Schengen Area includes 26 countries.
