Second Irish Referendum on the Treaty of Nice

A second referendum is held in Ireland regarding the ratification of the Treaty of Nice (which was signed on 26 February 2001 and came into force on 1 February 2003). Following a successful campaign this time, the “yes” vote won with 62.9%, overturning the 54% that voted against ratification in the first referendum on 7 June 2001. Ireland was the last country to ratify the Treaty of Nice on 18 December 2002.
