Special Meeting of the European Council, 01-02/10/2020

On 1 and 2 October 2020, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and the EU Heads of State and Government met in Brussels for a Special European Council, hosted by Charles Michel, President of the European Council. The EU leaders discussed the single market, industrial policy and digital transformation, as well as external relations, particularly relations with Turkey and China. The Summit was also an opportunity to take stock of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) situation.
