Speech by Paul Finet on Measures to Address the Crisis in the Coal and Steel Industries by the High Authority

The President of the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), Paul Finet, in a speech in Strasbourg to the European Parliamentary Assembly, refers to the measures taken by the High Authority in response to the crisis that emerged in the coal and steel industries in Europe. Among other things, he mentions increasing community productivity, creating stockpiles to avoid affecting demand, funding research and projects, cooperation between community institutions, improving competition, investments in the coal and steel sectors as well as the construction of workers’ housing and other social policies.
