State of the Union Address 2011, by José Manuel Barroso

José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, delivered the State of the Union Address 2011 titled “European Renewal” at the plenary session of the European Parliament.
The President emphasized that there are solutions to the economic crisis. He pointed out that the European Commission adopted on the same day a proposal for a Financial Transaction Tax and added that the banking sector would also contribute to society.
