State of the Union Address 2015 by Jean-Claude Juncker

Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, delivered his first State of the Union Address 2015 “Time for Honesty, Unity and Solidarity” at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, under the Presidency of Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament. In his speech, Jean-Claude Juncker outlined his political vision for the future of the EU and set out the main elements that will guide the preparation of the European Commission’s Work Programme for 2016 and beyond.
He referred to the refugee crisis, the urgent need to act as a Union for a new beginning for Greece (ed. in economic crisis), the eurozone and the European economy, the need for a fair deal for the United Kingdom, as well as support for Ukraine and addressing climate change.
