State of the Union Address 2020

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, delivered her first State of the Union Address at the European Parliament in Brussels.
She outlined her vision for how the EU can emerge stronger from the coronavirus pandemic and the priorities for the coming year. She announced plans to reduce EU greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels, as well as her goal to make this Europe’s “Digital Decade”, measures to intensify action against racism, and a new approach to migration.
