Submission of Malta’s Official Application for Accession to the European Communities

Martin Bangemann, Vice-President of the Commission of the European Communities, responsible for Internal Market and Industrial Affairs and Relations with the Parliament, and Abel Matutes, Member of the Commission of the European Communities, responsible for Mediterranean Policy, Relations with Latin America and Asia (except the Far East) and North-South Relations, welcomed Guido de Marco, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Malta. Malta’s official request for accession to the European Communities was signed by Guido de Marco and Abel Matutes.
