Terrorist Attack at the Airport and Metro Station in Brussels

22/3/2016

Suicide bombers attack Brussels airport and a metro station in Brussels, killing a total of 32 people. The Islamic State claims responsibility for the attack. In the following months, the group also claims responsibility for other terrorist attacks in Nice, Berlin, Istanbul, and Barcelona. Manchester, London, St. Petersburg, Stockholm, and other European cities also suffer casualties from terrorist attacks. To address this situation, EU countries agree to strengthen border security, improve intelligence service cooperation, and make efforts to prevent radicalization.
