The Basel Agreement on the “European Monetary Snake” is Signed.

The Basel Agreement (effective from April 24, 1972) on the so-called “European monetary snake” is signed. Based on this Agreement, central banks can intervene between various currencies to limit their fluctuation margin, which must not exceed 2.25%.
