The Eurogroup Meets to Discuss Better Coordination of Fiscal Policies

An informal meeting of the Eurogroup is held in Berlin with the aim of better coordinating fiscal policies, in order to assess the economic situation of the eurozone (national fiscal developments for 2007 and prospects for 2008). In addition to the thirteen Finance Ministers of the euro area, the meeting was attended by Jean-Claude Trichet and Joaquín Almunia, President of the European Central Bank and European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs, respectively.
