The European Parliament Building in Brussels

In 1993, the oldest building of the European Parliament in Brussels begins operating, named after its first president and one of the founding members of the EU, Belgian politician Paul-Henri Spaak. The largest building of the European Parliament complex, dedicated to another EU founder—Italian politician Altiero Spinelli—begins operating in 1998. In 2008, two new buildings are completed. The Parliament, as well as its committee meetings and plenary sessions, are always open to the public.
