The Inauguration of the PelješAc Bridge in Croatia

26/7/2022

Dubravka Šuica, Vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for Democracy and Demography, was in Croatia for the inauguration of the “Pelješac Bridge”, which was at that time one of the largest projects funded by the EU Cohesion Policy in the EU and in Croatia with an EU contribution of 357 million euros.
The new bridge connects the southernmost part of Croatia and Dubrovnik with the rest of mainland Croatia, crossing the Mali Ston bay over the Adriatic Sea, reducing travel time by 37 minutes along the coastline, improving people’s lives and increasing economic opportunities for the region.
