The Irish Lower House Ratifies the Treaty of Amsterdam

The Irish Lower House approves the bill concerning the ratification of the Treaty of Amsterdam. This bill had been submitted by the Government based on a relevant article (Article 29 of the Constitution), which required amendment following a referendum. A few days earlier, on June 17, the bill had also passed the approval of the Irish Senate.
