The New European Banking System is Presented

The new European System of Central Banks (ESCB) is presented in Davos by the president of the European Monetary Institute (EMI), Wim Duisenberg. From January 1, 1999, the ESCB replaced the EMI, and simultaneously, the third stage of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) is implemented.
