The New Talent Utilization Platform Supports Regions Facing the “Talent Development Trap”

The Commission launched the Harnessing Talent Platform, a new hub for exchanging best practices, which will help EU regions attract and retain individuals with the necessary skills to mitigate the impact of the demographic transition.
It ensures that affected regions receive the guidance, information, and knowledge they need to process, consolidate, develop, and implement personalized and integrated strategies for training, attracting, and retaining talent. Through this platform, the European Commission shares relevant information and promotes events, best practices, as well as access to technical assistance and advice for regions in need, including a dedicated help desk. Therefore, it can be considered as a catalyst for collaboration, enabling the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and resources among stakeholders.
To build a fair and resilient society that leaves no region or individual behind, the Commission launched the Talent Booster Mechanism in 2023. The Mechanism is an eight-pillar initiative to support regions in training, retaining, and attracting individuals with the necessary skills to mitigate the effects of the demographic transition. The new Platform will contribute to achieving these goals and will serve as a hub for collaboration and communication.
