The Signing of the Lomé Convention

The Lomé Convention is signed, concerning economic cooperation between the nine member states of the European Economic Community (EEC) and the 46 states of Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific (ACP). The Convention dealt with duty-free exports of agricultural products and raw materials from the ACP to the EEC.
