The United Kingdom’s Farewell to the European Union

31/1/2020

The United Kingdom, a member state of the EU since 1973, is leaving the European Union following the result of the 2016 referendum. The “Brexit agreement”, which was jointly approved by the European Parliament and the British Parliament, provides for a negotiation period during which the relationship between the EU and the United Kingdom will be redefined in many areas, including trade, education, defense, and employment, which will have significant consequences for both European and British citizens.
