“towards an Area of Freedom, Security and Justice”

Following the call of the Cardiff Council to the Commission and the Council for an action plan consistent with the relevant provisions of the Amsterdam Treaty, the European Commission publishes a communication entitled “Towards an Area of Freedom, Security and Justice”. One of the main ambitions of this initiative is to bring the European Union closer to its citizens.
