Trade, Security, Green and Digital Transition on the Agenda of President Von Der Leyen’s Visit to the Philippines

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen meets Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr, President of the Philippines, in Manila. They focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the EU and the Philippines, particularly on issues such as trade, green and digital transition, and security. During the meeting, Ursula von der Leyen also referred to the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy, which focuses on infrastructure needs during current global challenges, specifically in combating climate change, improving health systems, and enhancing the competitiveness and security of global supply chains.
