Visit of Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, to Cambodia

On 4 and 5 August 2022, Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for a Stronger Europe in the World, traveled to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to participate in the Annual Ministerial Meeting between the EU and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as in the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting.
On 5 August 2022, Josep Borrell Fontelles represented the EU at the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting, under the Chairmanship of Cambodia. ASEAN member states participated along with the other 17 ARF Partners to exchange views on regional and global security issues.
During the visit, Josep Borrell Fontelles also held bilateral meetings with various officials from Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Vietnam, the USA, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and East Timor.
