Visit of Ursula Von Der Leyen, President of the European Commission, to Slovenia, EU Support for the Country’s Flood Victims

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, traveled to Ljubljana, Slovenia, to express her solidarity and see the damage caused by the floods that hit the country in recent days. On this occasion, she met with Robert Golob, Prime Minister of Slovenia, and discussed ways in which the EU can support reconstruction and prevention efforts. Together with Robert Golob, Janez Lenarčič, European Commissioner for Crisis Management, and Romana Lesjak, Mayor of Črna na Koroškem, Ursula von der Leyen visited the areas that suffered the greatest damage from the floods in Slovenia. They announce a three-component package, for immediate needs and medium and long-term recovery of the affected areas, making 400 million euros accessible, funds from the NextGenerationEU program, while existing and already planned money that can be reprogrammed, with 3.3 billion euros from cohesion funds.
