Werner Report on the Single European Currency

A meeting is held in Basel, Switzerland, of the Committee of Governors of the Central Banks of the member states of the European Economic Community (EEC), with the main topic of discussion being the Werner Report. This report includes a plan for the gradual creation of a European economic and monetary union. The meeting was chaired by Baron Ansiaux.
